Personal Statement
I think the project was a success. The tower got a lot of wear and tear in the exhibition,
but I think I caught the attention of nearly every boy ages 4 through 13. Who doesn’t love a stomp rocket? Even when it would malfunction, everyone was
pleased that it could be manually operated.
If I were to build it again I would make a few modifications, most of
which would involve simply making the base more stable and the structure more
solid. Throwing a 1 Kg weight around
caused the thing to nearly self destruct.
In the future, with projects involving the motion of heavy objects, stronger
materials (or super glue) should be considered.
In any case I learned a lot.
